Jack Muldowney
Founder & Creative Director, Studio Malt
Every label design starts with a conversation with the brewer, and their goal for the beer: the story behind it, the inspiration for the name, the flavor profile and style. From there, it's right to sketch several layouts that tell the story of that beer, in a striking visual way. For every packaging design I try to balance the goal of cutting through the noise on the shelf, while also creating something that is instantly recognizable as that brewery's beer. Brand consistency is really important, while leaving enough flexibility for creativity from label to label.
