When the brewers at Off Color dream up something new, it usually comes with a quirky little tale starring their mischievous mouse, Mischief. From these tales, Nikki Jarecki creates illustrations that capture the playful spirit of each beer. Her illustrations then scamper over to Tim and Ben of Field of Grass Design, who transform them into labels, packaging, and the merch you’ll find at the taproom, The Mousetrap.

Nikki Jarecki is a Chicago illustrator behind 200+ Off Color Brewing can and bottle designs, shaping the brand’s quirky visual identity from the start. She’s also a ceramics teacher and maker, creating functional pieces that blend craft and storytelling. When not in the studio or classroom, she draws inspiration from kayaking, hiking, and birdwatching.
