December 16th marks the start of Posada season and we’re kicking it off with our friends at 5 Rabbit Cervecería!

Gather with us for an afternoon of community rooted in Latin American Christmas history and culture. Pozole and tamales will be available for purchase as well as an array of beer and beverages, including micheladas made with Xicago, the brewery’s newest lager. Adults and kids alike will have a blast taking on the piñata and live music rounds out the fiesta.

As part of our ongoing fundraising efforts, 5 Rabbit will be donating a portion of all michelada sales to El Xicago Brewseum. ¡Que delicioso!

About Posadas

While American culture celebrates the 12 Days of Christmas, many Latin American countries celebrate nine days of posadas. The word posada translates to ‘inn’ and, historically, re-enactments of Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem were held from December 16th through December 24th. Today, re-enactments still happen, but much of the celebration is rooted in friends and family gathering around food, drink, and music. We hope you join us for our take on a traditional posada.
