Brewing Up Chicago

Join us for the official opening night celebration of Brewing Up Chicago: How Beer Transformed a City. This is the Chicago Brewseum's first exhibition and we are thrilled to announce that it will be hosted by the Field Museum.

The evening provides you the opportunity to be a part of the official ribbon cutting ceremony and allows you to be the first to see the exhibit and hear from the exhibition curatorial team. Enjoy a menu of small bites thoughtfully designed by Executive Chef Jason White of Food For Thought Catering Group. Wash it down with delicious craft beer from 5 Rabbit, Forbidden Root, Goose Island, Half Acre, Metropolitan, Piece, and Revolution Brewing. We’ll have wine too!

Interested in ancient beer history? Join us for a special ancient beer history VIP hour beginning at 6pm! After you dig into a sampling of Field Museum craft beers inspired by the distant past, Art Institute of Chicago ancient beer historian, Lucas Livingston, leads you on a guided journey through the Field Museum's Inside Ancient Egypt exhibition. You’ll delve into decorated tombs and hidden chambers to discover the history, artistry, culture, and practice of beer and brewing from the banks of the Nile and the sands of ancient Egypt.
