Join us and fellow beer and bar history enthusiasts in the first of a potential series of Brewseum Book Club gatherings. 

First up is George Ade’s 1931 pro-Repeal book The Old Time Saloon: Not Wet, Not Dry—Just History.  Bill Savage, who edited and annotated the 2016 edition of this book for the University of Chicago Press, will lead the discussion. Like most book clubs: you don’t actually have to have read the book to join the conversation.

Future Brewseum Book Club gatherings will hopefully take place in person and will happen at the Red Lion Pub, 2446 N. Lincoln Ave. Topics may focus on memoirs of saloon life, novels or poetry or drama set in bar culture, or other literary aspects of beer history.
